ReplyDeleteA sense of humor is an incredible tool that has--and does!!--help me through some difficult times!! This is one hilarious Blog post!! ;-D
Love you later, Raelyn
PS. Happy, happy, happy belated birthday, Max!! Here's to many, many, many more!! Better late than never.... Right? ;)
I have so been there. SO MUCH. SO MUCH BEING THERE. And doing that. And I am so, so sorry. The good news, though very far off, is that someday Ben will learn to use the remote for your tv or to turn on the lights in the playroom or to read, and he will wake up at dawn and do his own thing while you sleep until 7. In the meantime, I'll tell you the one most useful thing anyone ever told me:
ReplyDeleteSurrender.
I spun my wheels for months and months worrying about when my 1st daughter would sleep, for how long, how I would sleep or if I would ever sleep, and then someone told me to just surrender and accept that sleep wasn't one of the gifts I was going to get. Sitting quietly is not bad. Sitting in a rocking chair with a baby in your lap is good rest for your body -- not as good as sleep, but better than nothing. I wish you peaceful moments of surrender with that very cute boy, whenever you can catch them.
But dang. Yeah. It's HARD!
Oh Ben. But how could we all not love you anyway, you are just so cute!!! Does he sleep well at night, Ellen? My poor mother, my sister and I never slept well and I still don't a portion of the time
ReplyDeleteHaha, I love this! Hoping you and Ben get some quality nap-time in soon :)
