  1. Dexter's at #3, this week. This post is about the bad days, the lonely days, the frustrating days... and Dexter's quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Some days are harder than others. Happy weekend, everyone.

  3. Thanks Ellen I linked to the post about the two month anniversary of my campaign hopefully reading it will make people realize that the lives of the "disabled" don't revolve around their "disabilities".

  6. I just posted a link to a post about sharing the fabulousness (- or just the lack of suffering, perhaps?) of our kids with disabilities to medical professionals. A fantastic campaign spearheaded by DSDN. I don't know if you've promoted this already or not on Parents and stuff, but it's a really good idea.

And! I left this long comment about the guest post you had (- Oprah/retarded/Special Ed) but because I'm typing while boondocking in Mexico (with a portable modem no less), I think it got wiped out.

I just wanted to say that I appreciated the post - she did a great job about calling attention to what she said that she shouldn't have. Oprah and Iyanla (sp?) do a lot of good, but that's hurtful.

And. You made me bust out laughing over that knickers comment. You rock, Ellen!

  8. 49. Just posted this very sad news about the loss of a vibrant disability advocate who in her own way, had a lot to teach everyone about growing up disabled.

  9. I'm the girl who was in the handicap stall...I'll be honest, I was playing a game on my phone while using the bathroom. I like the times of day I get to just sit down, even if it's in the bathroom!!

I was caught off-guard when I saw you and your son. I didn't expect someone who needed the stall would come in, especially since like you said it was so empty !!

    1. Thank you for your honesty. Next time, find a bench in a quiet area to sit down on if you are not using a toilet for the process of elimination. I hope you learn more about public etiquette from this experience.
