Last week, Max's teacher emailed to say a class assistant was teaching him the Pulp Fiction dance for the delayed Valentine's Party (it got snowed out). You know, the part where John Travolta and Uma Thurman do the twist to Chuck Berry's You Never Can Tell, along with the Batusi (that move in which you draw your fingers across your eyes).
I couldn't wait to see him in action, but Max refused to give me a sneak preview. So Thursday evening, soon after the dance started, I asked the DJ to play the song and Max did the Batusi. He also danced hand-in-hand with one of his classmates. Swoon.
As of several years ago, Max wanted no part of the Valentine's Dance—it was too loud, too busy, too everything. But he went in like a boss, even without headphones. And he didn't want to leave when it was done.
And now, he's doing that dance move all the time. Last night, he asked to see the YouTube clip before he went to sleep.
Repeat: Swoon.
Yay Max! Your a better dancer than me!
ReplyDeleteawesome!! i love it! My older daughter has taught my little one to dance "gangnam style" and how to do the cups song from Pitch Perfect. I think we should have a Dancing with the Stars- special needs edition! Dance party!! Dance party!!
