Special Needs Blogger Weekend Link-Up: Join the crowd
It's another Special Needs Blogger Weekend Link-Up. Crowdsourced reading material, at its best.
The idea
Link to a favorite post of the week—yours or someone else's.
What to do
Scroll all the way down to the bottom of this post. Where it says "Your name" put the name of the blog followed by the title of the post (or just the name of the post, if there's no room—you get 80 characters).
Like this: I'd Like To Sign Up For Driving Lessons, Please
Where it says "Your URL" put the direct link to the post.
Click "Enter." Leave a comment if you want to say more. Go check out some great posts.
Happy linking!

I posted about hippotherapy, a unique type of therapy on horseback. Kyle absolutely loves it!
ReplyDeleteI posted a short list of things most special needs parents probably don't want to hear. At least I don't like hearing these things. What do you think? Can't wait to read other posts and find more blogs to follow!
ReplyDeleteArgh, sorry, somehow I hit the keyboard and by mistake linked up something I had already linked up weeks ago. Sorry! :-(
ReplyDeleteThat's it Joy - you're fired! No one forgives you!
Delete:-)
Lucas
Thanks Lucas! ;-) It happened before, that is why I think I might be too stupid to work with Mr Linky.
DeleteBTW, hope you and yours are fine! I have been so busy lately that I was hardly able to check anyone's blog. :-(
Joy, to redeem yourself, you must: 1) go have some chocolate 2) go take a nap 3) do something else to treat yourself nicely.
DeleteI just love you for this, Ellen! xo
DeleteThank you so much for providing this space every week!
I linked to a post I wrote called Who do you believe yourself or other people? it's about believing what you know to be true about yourself rather than believing what other people believe about you. Thanks for hosting this link-up :)
ReplyDeleteThis week I wrote about L, for the L in the ABC's of Autism that I'm writing. I'm so excited already to read about Hippotherapy and what Special Needs Parents don't need to hear. Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeletePost about choosing my attitude...throw a pity party for myself or choose to be thankful? :)

Thanks for giving us all a place to get our voices heard and hear from others, Ellen!
Loved this - thank you for sharing!
DeleteHi everyone - can't believe it's Friday again already! Thanks to Ellen of course, for hosting, and for everyone who has already linked up - love finding new people through these. I've linked up a completely non child related post - hopefully that's okay with everyone! I'd really love a comment or two, for you to share a line that you love - so perhaps I'll see you there!
ReplyDeleteTake care all
Lucas
Thanks for hosting this awesome linkup Ellen!
ReplyDeleteHope you and your family have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks again! I know the statistics in my re-post from 2 years ago about abuse and intellectual disability are a bit off, but there's some very useful information here on how to protect your loved ones and how to teach them to protect themselves.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ellen for hosting this today (and every Friday). Sure love finding so many good posts in one place. This week my post #34 is about Independence for your special needs child when they reach adulthood. Maybe I'm the only mother who wanted kids, but hoped they'd move out of the house someday. But if I'm not, we made decisions in the school setting and by applying for services on our daughter's behalf so she could live on her her, in her own apartment when the time was right. If anyone is interested in this aspect, please check out Out One Ear this week. Happy Friday, everyone!
ReplyDeleteI just love reading the posts contributed to this link-up every week! I shared two this week: one about how both my mother and I have the same disability but different life experiences, and one about the reasons why a cure and equality should not be mutually exclusive.
ReplyDeleteI'm so looking forward to Sunday when I can pour a cup of coffee, and pour over all of the shared blog posts!! I just love this gathering of story sharing!! Thank-you for offering the space, Ellen!!
ReplyDeleteMy sharing today was a short post. Someone asked me once,"So... what's your story?" Sexually abused, surrounded by autism, saturated with guilt. These things happened, but they are not my story. WE are always in the position to choose our story. And mine is simple!!
Hugs!!!!
I'm still writing about aspergers, but now my son is older, I write about it in general or about it's affect on me, as I have done this time, hope it resonates with some of you!
ReplyDeleteThanks again, Ellen. This week, Dexter's post is about him having his first ride in a beach access wheelchair. It was so liberating, taking him for a ride down the sand dunes and along the shoreline! We're at #47. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for connecting all the Special Needs blogs. It's so great to read how others are managing life with an individual with special needs in the house.
ReplyDeleteWeird - that's my nickname from ages ago - not sure how that popped up. So much to learn.
DeleteThanks, Ellen, for posting this link-up!
ReplyDeleteCheck out the great work of Music For Autism! Thanks, Ellen! - Rosie
ReplyDeleteToday I am trying to remind myself I am not a jerk or a B for advocating for our kid. I appreciate this place you created, Ellen. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for hosting this linky party! I love being able to visit new blogs!
ReplyDeleteThis week I had another blogging friend do a guest post for me about things she's learned from Early Intervention.
I'm new to this and noticed that this party expired almost a year ago but I linked up anyways- hope that's ok? Looking forward to checking out everyone's blog!!
