Special Needs Blogger Weekend Link-Up: Whatcha got?
It's another Special Needs Blogger Weekend Link-Up, a place to share posts and read a bunch from parents who totally get it.
The idea
Link to a favorite post of the week—yours or someone else's.
What to do
Scroll all the way down to the bottom of this post. Where it says "Your name" put the name of the blog followed by the title of the post (or just the name of the post, if there's no room—you get 80 characters).
Like this: Love That Max: I Am Saving Up To Go To Carsland
Where it says "Your URL" put the direct link to the post.
Click "Enter." Leave a comment if you want to say more. Go check out some great posts.
Happy linking!

Thank you for hosting this link up I linked to a post I wrote reacting to your post 'If my child could wake up without special needs'.
ReplyDeleteThank you once again for hosting this link up. I always find great blogs to read because of it. My post this week deals with the opposite of what most people with special needs kids want -- I want people to see the bad that comes with the good. Why? I hear time and again what great kids I have, and I do, but people don't believe our children have sensory issues because they don't always see them in action. This post is for them.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the link up! Numbers 13 and 14 are the same, can you please delete 13? I put my name there instead of blog title. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link up! Tales of a Tigerlilly is my blog that I only started yersterday so if you fancy a peep, feedback would be apprreciated. Thanks :o) x
ReplyDeleteAnd I've managed to post it twice by mistake. Sorry, I'm new at this!
ReplyDeleteI wake up every Friday morning looking forward to reading everyone's posts!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the opportunity to link up,...and thank you so much for Love that Max blog,...it is inspiring and so hopeful and helpful to us,...as we are yet,...so new to this journey....Again thank you for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteLoving this Link Up! I wrote this week about why Standing is Stupid-- at least I like to think it is...
ReplyDeleteIn the spirit of awareness and just plain great writing I linked to the blog of a woman I have come to know these last couple months. She lived in my town. Her blog has received national attention so I am sure many of your have heard of it "Blessed by Brenna." It is written by the mother of an amazing little girl named Brenna who was born with a very serious and rare skin disease . The blog is a very positive and upbeat blog but I actually linked to an older post that I found to be so honest. In the post Courtney talked about processing her feelings regarding her daughter's life-long disability. Since my son also has a rare skin condition and visual difference (although not as serious) I could really relate to much of what she wrote. Yet, I think ANY parent of a special needs child can relate to to this post and her blog. She is an amazing writer and I encourage you to take 5 min of of your day and go read her story. It is life changing!
ReplyDeleteI love when you do this :)
ReplyDeleteI always meet new writers each time!
Not trying to be sneaky but I have to put anonymous when I'm on my phone ;)
I just posted our last beach trip. I had to go back to past year's beach trips...Elena has come so far! It makes me so happy!
ReplyDeleteCall me a noob, but I can't find where the posts that everyone links to show up that I can see them? Any tips?
ReplyDeleteAnon, the widget that lists the names of all the posts (with links) should be showing up. Try using Firefox if you're using Safari, and vice versa.
DeleteI look forward to this link up every week. It allows me to connect with so many other families that get it.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Thank you for continuing to support our blogs. If people like my post this week, just wait to see part two next week! 😁
ReplyDeleteThank you again for doing this, Ellen!
ReplyDeleteThis week I shared a post, detailing my son's specific case of Spina Bifida (with lots of pics and videos!). Since I started blogging, I've had many friends and family member say something along the lines of, "I didn't know Liam had all of that going on."
I wrote this post in the hopes of spreading some much-needed SB awareness.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

I'm the oldest of eight now grown kids. My mom adopted four special needs boys when I was young, and then two homeless girls when we were teens. I decided to share the post where I talk about how lucky we all are!! Of course, I also admit that it took me a little while to see that...
ReplyDeleteThank-you again for letting us share!! I'm off to peek at some of the others now!!
Happy weekend!!

Wow! Such great blogs! Thanks so much for bringing us all together, Ellen!
ReplyDeleteThis week at Life After IEPs we celebrate the gift of learning from young adult self advocates. There are many links to the websites and Facebook pages of young leaders who experience disabilities. These young people are loving their own lives - and are passionate about empowering their younger peers. It's a delight to learn from them.
Have a great weekend, everybody!
love the idea. great way for connecting with other families, thanks.
ReplyDeleteI've posted a link to a post I just published! It's about a trip to Nicaragua I took and the emotion I found in visiting an institution, this is an experience that is very dear to my heart.
ReplyDeleteDear Ellen: I've posted the Sonia and Sam story again--just in case anyone missed it last week. It is only two weeks until this couple with developmental disabilities marries. It has been so heartwarming supporting them and seeing how their community has come together to give them the wedding of their dreams. Their local news interviewed them on Friday night. I hope they post the link to that story, too. Anyway, thanks for this opportunity to share. Happy weekend to all!
ReplyDeleteP.S. The story I'm talking about is #62 above! Enjoy. And share if it touches you the way it touched me.
DeleteThank you to those who have linked up to me at blessedbybrenna.blogspot.com, and I am so glad to have found Love That Max and all of these other wonderful blogs listed here! What a great community!
