Special Needs Blogger Weekend Link-Up: long weekend edition!
It's another Special Needs Blogger Weekend Link-Up, and it'll be up through Memorial Day.
The idea
Link to a favorite post of the week—yours or someone else's.
What to do
Scroll all the way down to the bottom of this post. Where it says "Your name" put the name of your blog followed by the title of your post (or just the name of the post, if there's no room—you get 80 characters).

Where it says "Your URL" put the direct link to the post.
Click "Enter." Leave a comment if you want to say more. Go check out some great posts.
Happy linking!
Hi Everyone, I had dental surgery this week, so I'm posting an oldie but goodie today. Btw, we had a Person Centred Planning meeting yesterday for Nick and he had a meltdown (too many people talking about him) - I'm going up north to open the cottage today and clean it (taking tylenols for my jawbone!) but the happy thing is that Nick said he wants to try to go up to the cottage this summer just for ONE day. He'll see if the drive causes too much pain, but he's willing to try :)
ReplyDeleteThanks again, Ellen for hosting this. I've already found several fantastic blogs this week and it is still early in the first day! Of course, at this rate, I could read excellent blogs all day every day! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteEllen, thank you so much for hosting this. I know I rarely post a comment, but please know I really enjoy coming here most Fridays to read several really great blogs. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteSharing a Bookshare blog. http://ow.ly/lmpW9 Mom's Say accessible books unlock reading potential for early learners with print disabilities. Submitted by Valerie Chernek Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link-up again, Ellen!
ReplyDeleteMy post is about gender and toys and autism. Fun, fun, fun!
Happy Memorial Day weekend! Woo-hooo....!
Thanks again for hosting this. My link-up is to a two week old blog post. For whatever reason, I did not share it (or if I did, I do not remember sharing it) two weeks ago, and I shared another one last week. Mine's a mother's day post but I wanted to share it so I could show off my cute kids and the awesome card they and their daddy made for me. :)
ReplyDeleteI posted my boys birthday post. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend :) I linked to a post about perseverance. Thanks for hosting this link-up.
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting me link up my blog! This is my first link up here. I have five kids, two of them with special needs (Selective Mutism, SPD, Hypotonia, and Ehlers Danlos). I can't wait to check out your blogs!
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting us share our posts with each other. My son took a karate class with typical kids. It is a very small class, just three kids, but it was dipping our toe in the typical waters as I watched how kids react to him. I'm not sure if we'll stay with it. We'll see...
ReplyDeleteI am really excited to participate in this link-up and get to know other Special Needs Bloggers. My blog is called "All Aboard...Life" (allaboardlife.blogspot.com) and is about my life with my 3.5 year old son who is developmentally delayed and believed to be autistic (waiting for neuropsych confirmation). My post that I am sharing is about how much he is thriving in his special needs preschool since starting two months ago. I am so happy for him.
ReplyDeleteStaci,
DeleteWow, your story sounds like mine! I can't wait to catch up with you! My blog is findingninee.com. We started ABA preschool for my undiagnosed autistic developmentally delayed son! He'll be four in July.
Thanks again, Ellen for hosting! I need to do a little catching up!
ReplyDeleteEllen,
ReplyDeleteAs always, thanks for hosting. Some of the people I've met through this have become my best blog friends and ones that truly understand. You're awesome. And happy Memorial Day 3-day weekend!
I wrote the first thoughts I had this morning, as I awoke to the sound of my son reciting his favorite Dora episode from bed at 4 AM. I guess even when you're not watching it, you're thinking about it....
ReplyDeleteEllen, thank you so much for hosting this! Always great reads! And more to learn.
ReplyDeleteHi Everyone!
ReplyDeleteThe post at Life After IEPs this week is a call to action.
A copyright exception treaty is at stake.
Why is this important?
Because if passed, it will enable millions of children and adults worldwide who have print disabilities (such as blindness and dyslexia) to read books in accessible formats such as Braille and text to speech.
If you think that's already possible now - read this post to see what is at stake.
You can take action by signing two petitions.
Why is that important?
There's plenty of corporate opposition to the treaty - and the voices of self advocates and their supporters must be heard.
Together we can support accessible formats that make reading possible for everyone!
