We have a new Sunday night tradition at our house: Dance Party Around The World. It helps shake off the Monday back-to-school blues, and it's a whole lot of fun. We start off dancing in Max's room (Cars 2 soundtrack), head over to Sabrina's abode (Katy Perry song), next my room (Springsteen!), then back to Max's room (Cars 2).
Yes, Max's serial casts are off! Five weeks did the trick of straightening out both feet. And now, he has his groove back. Pay close attention and you'll spot Max doing what Dave calls his "surfer dude" move. You do not need to pay close attention to see Sabrina hamming it up.
I love dancing and I don't get to do much of it anymore, so this is super-fun for me, too. (My dance moves: not caught on film.)

Sooo sweet... I love it. The interaction between your two children is so beautiful. Reminds me of my children. They treat Justin no different than anyone else. They laugh, play and include him. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteToo cute. Kids just love to dance.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea all families need to do this :)
ReplyDeleteI love everything about it - what a great idea. Don't tell Sabrina, but I especially like the part when Max kind of pushes her out of the way and makes you focus the camera on him!! And the "surfer dude" move is totally awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteLove it! oh Sabrina you precious thing! Lucky your brother is gentle! Coops would have punched Pepper in that dance night! ;) coops loves your bed Max!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are so sweet. Thanks for sharing! I might try this idea!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! We have Just Dance 4 for Wii with popular songs and Piper (who can only hold the Wii remote in her left hand and gets thrown off by the right handed dancers) will dance for hours if i let her. She even has her favorites and will do them over and over. All my other kids get tired, but she just keeps on going!! Dancing is amazing therapy :)
ReplyDeleteAdorable and what I love the most is that not once did you say to Sabrina to watch out for Max. I hear that a lot with families who have special needs kids - they really do not break that easily! And they like to live on the edge just like their siblings.
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Ellen and kiddos.
Great idea! I love their dance moves. Also the idea to pick different songs for different rooms is awesome. I second Mel in the comments - dancing is great therapy! Max's surfer dude move requires graded movements of his muscles to get that mini squat move not to mention balance. Sorry but can't help but watch the video with my "pediatric PT goggles" on.
ReplyDeleteI'ts so nice to see brother and sister having fun together! Max and Bethany seem to have some of the same dance moves!
ReplyDeleteCool idea!
