Special Needs Blogger Weekend Link-Up: Join us, please

Welcome to another Special Needs Blogger Weekend Link-Up, your home away from home.

The idea

Share a favorite post of the week—yours or someone else's.

What to do

Scroll all the way down to the bottom of this post. Where it says "Your name" put the name of your blog followed by the title of your post (or just the name of the post, if there's no room—you get 80 characters).

Like this: Love That Max: Some Days, My Sister Is Nice To Me. SOME Days.

Where it says "Your URL" put the direct link to the post.

Click "Enter." Leave a comment if you want to say more. Go check out some great posts.

Happy linking!

  1. I'll probably get "dinged" for this one, but I'm not a fan of the new federal ruling requiring schools to open sports programs to kids with disabilities. My "whys" are in the post I linked above.

  2. Sorry, I linked two blog posts by mistake!

  3. For my post, I was inspired by this awesome quote: "Hope is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense regardless of how it turns out."
    :) have a great day!!

  8. After all these years, I still find myself chasing the magic bullet sometimes. That's my blog post this week. I've started to follow a lot of new blogs thanks to your link-up so thank you.

  9. I hope it worked when I posted it - Autism with a Side of Fries - if it didn't link up right - take a look at that blog. The most recent post made me feel better.

  11. Hey Ellen!

That's some funky formatting going on there. Mr linky's going nuts, huh?

I wrote a piece for Amy Julia Becker's prenatal series. She's having guest posts from a number of women on their prenatal testing experiences - all of which dovetails her new e-book on prenatal testing.

Take care, have a good one!

    1. Now, Meriah, you're not appreciating my new nouveau-Linky look? Tres moderne, no? Like the kind of formatting you'd see at the Museum of Modern Art IF they had a gallery dedicated to link-ups! Er, right. Dunno what's up. I'm quite sure your post is going to be nicely formatted. And smart, as usual.

  13. The very first time I deleted a post because it was just too "raw." Check out my reasons in "The Post that Wasn't" at A Boy Named Silas. And thanks for hosting the linkup!

    1. Hi, Rachael. I left a comment on the original post the other day, didn't think this was the right place to.

  15. I recently posted a video (my first) from our recent Kidical Mass bike ride, and seeing the little guy ride in front of me on video, made me stop and think about how far he has come! From unsteady walking at a late age, to a heavily-adapted tricyle, to trepidation on his first adaptive bike, to no-stopping-him-now on his current adaptive trike.

    1. Ooops! My apologies Ellen - I accidentally posted a link to an tag page of posts, instead of to 1 post. I followed up with the correct post, so feel free to delete the 1st one. My apologies. Great idea for this by the way!

  16. Thanks for hosting us, Ellen.
So glad to find all these great bloggers!

My post this week is about Friends of Quinn - an online community for young adults with learning differences and those who love them. Another wonderful place on the net.
    Cheers!

  18. We just returned from our annual trip to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA and once again, I can't get over how helpful most of the staff are in dealing with our son's disabilities.

    1. The Disney World people have always been equally wonderful. We've never been to Disneyland yet—but I think we're going to have to make a pilgrimage to Carsland first. !

  19. I'm hoping that it's still the weekend for you, and this link-up is still operational! It's Monday evening here in NZ.
Have been a bit quiet with my posts over the past few months, but hoping that a new year will renew my enthusiasm for blogging.

  20. What a great idea. And LOVE the tool (widget?) that made providing the link so easy.
I chose the one blog post that always makes me laugh. It was the results of a contest called "I can't believe I said that!" showcasing things, as parents of very unique kids, that we were amazed ever came out of our mouths. "Don't lick the dog" and such. My favorite? "Spit your brother's tooth back out and give it to him right now."
