A very powerful reason not to use the word "retard"


Friends, please check out the post I wrote on my parents.com blog, "Can the word retard kill? This murder might convince you." It's a horrifying story, and it makes you understand how demeaning words such as "retard" spread hate that can lead to harm.

    Thanks for sharing this. Your full post was a really hard, but necessary read and I shared it on Facebook as another reminder to my friends about why I'm such a hard ass when it comes to using hurtful, offensive language like the r-word.
