  12. These hilarious, snarky quotes made me think of something that I've been meaning to ask you for a while. (Maybe I already have, in which case I apologize.)

Have you ever seen the TV series Breaking Bad? I know you keep an eye out for realistic portrayals of people with special needs in the media, and this is definitely a fascinating portrayal of a character with CP. The protagonist's teenage son, played by RJ Mitte (who really has CP), is snarky to his parents. He does some good things, but also acts out in the way many teens would. He is a person first, and his disability is usually far behind, although it does sometimes highlight the special problems he might have (I have no idea how accurately). He's a fairly normal teen- nothing more, nothing less. Although he might not be a good role model for Max, he's definitely better than the caricatures usually seen.

If you are looking for a series, and have the time to watch it well away from kids (it's fairly violent), I would recommend BB for sure, but if you have seen it, I was wondering what your thoughts are.

Plus, you get to see his dad beat up some guys who are making fun of his son in the very first episode, so that's pretty awesome, too.

  13. Glad to amuse y'all.

    Karen: Yeah. You're right.

Mama T: We use the Proloquo2Go.

Rachael: I don't remember your mentioning Breaking Bad here. I just looked it up and it sounds great. Available on Hulu! I will check it out. I've been on a Glee Netflix bender, but I'm getting a little burned out on it.

  14. I'll weigh in with a thumbs up for Breaking Bad! You find yourself empathizing with a cancer-stricken drug manufacturer/HS science teacher--now there's a mindbending tug-o-war right there! And the son is great!

Not for kids, though. Not in the slightest.
