What was your favorite post of 2010?
I've shared several of my favorite posts of the year, and I'd love to read ones you've written! Just write the title of your post where it says "Your name" and cut and paste the link to the post where it says "Your URL." Once you've posted, leave a comment explaning why it's so meaningful to you. I know, it's hard to choose just one, so feel free to mention a couple.

You're right, it's too hard to choose just one! So I made a "year in review" post :)
ReplyDeleteHi Ellen,
ReplyDeleteI've commented a couple times before...love your blog (and love your Max vicariously through your blog. :))
I linked up to my favorite post this year. The post is about being an adoptive mama....it touches on the challenges of adoptive motherhood but then circles back the beauty of it all, which resounds so much more strongly than any challenge (something you clearly know well).
Happy New Year!
Becca
It is tough to choose, but I think that once you get past the wind being knocked out of you and accept your child or in my case my grandchilds diagnosis, you can focus more on helping and loving and healing.
ReplyDeleteJust linked to my post about our family holiday traditions, maybe I will write a year in review post too, love that idea!
ReplyDeleteHi Ellen. I just linked to my favourite post of the year...New Dreams. It's about the dreams you have for your family and how those change. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to look through my old posts and see what I wrote the last few months.
ReplyDeleteThe post that I left is a book review of John W. Quinn's new book titled Someone Like Me. It's a memoir written by a man who hid his cerebral palsy diagnosis from the navy for the duration of his 20 year career. It's absolutely the best book I've ever read and by far the best Christmas present I've ever received.
ReplyDeleteI'm also going to leave you with a link to my series (http://healthyunwealthywise.com/category/life-with-cp-a-z/) in which I tackle subject matter that has to do with CP based on the letters of the alphabet.
Thanks so much for giving me this opportunity to reflect! Happy New Year to you and your family!
I had to link to another post...Inspiration...about my choice to lose weight and how Ben inspired me to do it.
ReplyDeleteP.S., Just re-read my comment, which kind of made it sound like I thought you were an adoptive mama, too. I know you're not...I've just have found that my own thoughts about being an adoptive mama sometimes mirror your thoughts about being a mama to your Max. :)
ReplyDeleteI always love reading other people's posts and this was actually great to look through my past year as well. Inclusion is so important to me because desperate desire for my son to have friends. My post called "My YaYa Hospital Moment" was a runner up because best friends get are absolutely necessary in life.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this opportunity to share, Ellen. I'm so encouraged by your blog!
All these posts are GREAT so far (mine's #9) and have aided me in procrastinating doing laundry!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read everyone's post!
ReplyDeleteI linked to my post about how my two kids are like the fable "The Tortoise and the Hare"....the hare being my typically developing 6 year old son, and the tortoise being my 4 year old delayed daughter. I realized, after hearing the fable, that my daughter may be a tortoise...but she DOES eventually cross that finish line!
ReplyDeleteWe are no 19, we have been reading your blog all year. Thank you. This is my favorite of my posts because this was my turning point this year. Even my hubby's believes there is a God now.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!!! Thanks! My post speaks for itself :)
ReplyDeleteEllen, As always great ideas and great posts!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I linked a post celebrating Angel's mastering using scissors. The little gains she makes each day are amazing to me. Looking forward to reading all the other great posts!
ReplyDeleteThanks for organizing this. It's been fun reading all the posts. Mine is about my thoughts on parenting, disability, and giftedness. All kids are born with abilities and disabilities, and no amount of the "right" kind of parenting can change that.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for putting this together! What a wonderful opportunity to see the writing of many of your fans!
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful! Such great reading tonight- thank you.
ReplyDeleteI linked my double post of "The existentialism of behavioral medication" because I spent so much of 2010 dealing with E.'s meds, mostly trying to keep up and get him to be the best E. we could with th fewest side effects.
This post is what happened when I stopped to think about it all. And I very much felt like the old me again, pre-kids, when I used to think like this all the time. Only it's closer now.
If you have time, I'm alsoi partial to the coat-rack post that preceeds it.
Great post idea, Ellen.
ReplyDeleteI chose my post titled Hopeful because the incident I wrote about was so powerful to me, it fueled me with hope for a long time after and still does when I think back to it.
I posted a link to the first time E had friends come to the door to ask if she could play. Still gives me goosebumps.
ReplyDeleteI'm #32. Best moment of the year for sure.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little late to this but wanted to do it anyway. I can't wait to read through the list!
ReplyDeleteJust linked to my post (#36). Writing this one forced me to examine how much time I waste thinking about what strangers think of me (and of my kid, of course).
ReplyDeleteI am still reading through the posts—I will get to them all—and they are amazing. Thanks, all, for sharing.
