Giveaway: Yo Kids


We eat a lot of yogurt in this house; the kids think it's a treat, even though it healthy (please, nobody tell them). Sabrina would down the entire eight-pack of Squeezers at once if I let her. We do the YoKids kind, which is organic.

    My son also loves yogurt. His favorites are yobaby 3-in-1 meals apple & sweet potato and their strawberry banana. He also loves gerber toddler yogurts. He generally eats yogurt everyday for lunch. I love the activia dessert strawberry cheesecake yogurt, yummy!

    We love Stonyfield's cream on top Vanilla, which by the way, only gets better with the addition of home made raspberry freezer jam, then you swirl it just a little so it looks pretty. Tasty! And, something that a picky child who must eat to keep her blood sugars up will often take when nothing else will do.

    Well, we like yogurt, but I wanted to tell you about our experience with Sibshops. It's WONDERFuL, and if anyone has the opportunity to get their kids involved they will be forever greatful, as will their kids! My daughter Julia has been involved with Sibshops for a year and a half now, and I will never, ever forget what she said to me after her first visit, she was 8. She climbed in the car and exclaimed "mom!! It's amazing, I'm not the only one with a brother like Cubbie (Collin).". She went on to explain everything they did, what they talked about and the other kids she met. Never had I thought about how having a silbling with disabilities would effect her so early!! I knew it would be something we would need to address, but I really believe that Sibshops has given us the tools and support she needs now and will need in the future to embrace her job as the sibling of a child with special needs. Please, if you have the opportunity, take it!!

    I am so happy I found your blog. We have a 14 year old with Down Sydrome who is non verbal. Our daughter entered our lives at 6 through foster care and our adoption was final when she was 9. It is so wonderful and helpful to hear what other families are going though. I hope you get to do the SIbshops. Our other children were 14 & 26 when our youngest came to live with us, so we didn't experience that. Our now 22 year old is her sisters biggest fan. Oh, we like blueberry yogurt!
