Max's parting gift before I head to Blissdom tomorrow
I'm trying to put the kids to bed, only they won't let me. They are masters of delay tactics. They want water. Sabrina wants a snack. Max wants the night-light on. Sabrina wants a different night-light. They both want to pounce on their AeroBeds (more on that in another post, it's how I'm getting them out of our bedroom). But tonight, Max tried the best delay tactic of 'em all.
We're in the bathroom, Sabrina's just gone. Max gestures at the toilet and then himself.
"You want to go pee pee?" I say.
He nods, vigorously.
I send Sabrina off to get Max's potty seat from the other bathroom. She inexplicably comes back with Max's stepstool. "No, the potty seat! Hurry, please!" She brings it. It is blue, but Max "Purple is my middle name" tolerates it.
I set him on the toilet.
He looks at me. He grins. He pees. He stops. He pees some more.
Me: "WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! MAX MADE PEE-PEE ON THE POTTY! MAX MADE PEE-PEE ON THE POTTY!"
Then I do a little dance thanking the pee-pee gods as Max and Sabrina giggle like crazy.
Lately, I have been wondering if Max has the muscle control to handle potty training. He does! He does!
Max, wonderboy, strikes again...
...and he'll be getting this to commemorate the occasion.
whoo hoo! Way to go, Max!

ReplyDeleteI can't help thinking about those little stem cells....is this a natural progression, I wonder, or did your adventure at Duke provide a little boost, here? However this day came about, it's a wonderful turn of events. Hurrah, Max!!!!
Have a great time at Blissdom! That is great about Max - it's funny b/c I came here to ask you a question about potty traning that I received from a mom who's son has CP. She is frustrated!!
