Cute and thoughtful:) My eldest child surprises me sometimes with his understanding of his little brothers difficulties and I have to remind myself that children often understand more than we think. Sabrina will be an amazing adult, as will my Firstborn:) Jen
How beautiful. I think she would probably have been the stick up for you, walk with you sister even if Max didn't have problems. From reading your other posts she just seems like that kind of kid.
Just when you may lose hope and think she had had enough of him, she does something so incredibly sweet...siblings are wonderful, special needs or not!
My brothers were like that too. They are 8 & 10 years older than me. Just bc I have CP, they didn't let that stop them including me in everything... The took me everwhere... Carried me around...
All the stuff siblings should do {:) Your sweet girl is doing what all good siblings should do & it warms my heart.
His best friend and fiercest defender! Max is lucky to have her, and she's lucky to have him! They'll learn a lot from one another as the years go by (I've been there and done that, and am someone who knows about that stuff! I hope she never has to get in any fistfights, but if she does, I hope she clobbers anyone who messes with her brother!).....
You know, I think part of it is some nascent maternal instinct, but Sabrina's also a very intuitive kid and I think she senses she has to do stuff for Max. When she's not hitting him, complaining that he's drooling on her, or trying to eat his share of the ice-cream, that is. This kid can look so much more angelic than she is. But then, that's MOST kids, isn't it?!
Aww, what a great sister!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
