This is the first time I ever heard Max sing an entire song, and it made me cry. He's totally carrying a tune—well, as much tune as Sabrina is carrying, anyway. I was also astounded to see him and Sabrina getting along for three whole minutes. Joanne,
Max's wonderful music therapist, taped this today.
And yes, Max needs a haircut!
nice job max ellen he will be talking in no time I am sure
ReplyDeleteThis made me cry! I've been following your blog and am so inspired by Max's story. He is such a wonderful boy, and so lucky to have a mother like you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great video!! Does Max know any Abba?? If so he and Ashlea could do a mean duet!
ReplyDeleteaw that gave e chills.......that is awesome!
ReplyDeleteHi Ellen
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've commented here before but have been lurking for some time. I enjoy reading your posts, particularly pertaining to raising a child with cerebral palsy (my 5-yr-old daughter has CP). And I'm really interested in your journey with stem cell therapy. This video was really lovely - Max's singing gave me goosebumps (in a good way!), this song is one of our favourites too. Thanks for sharing it. I hope you don't mind if I link you to my own blog?

I haven't even had my morning coffee yet, and you have already brought a smile to my face and a few tears to my eyes. Max is such an amazing kid.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a difference from the last time they sang that song! Max sang the entire thing! So awesome, brought tears to my eyes too. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, wow - that made me cry.
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome! I absolutely loved it and can't wait to buy their debut album. I think your kids are just to cute, and I can't wait til Regan gets home from school. She always likes to see what Max is up to, and she will love his singing.
ReplyDeleteYeah Max! And Sabrina was being especially inclusive to her brother!
ReplyDeleteMy Max started singing along once your Max started singing loudly! He loves music too!
Wow! That was fantastic. Way to go Max.
ReplyDeleteThat is soooo cute! REally put a smile on my face. Now, if only I could teach Charlie some of those moves.
ReplyDeleteJust discovered your blog via Knowledge Safari on twitter. How wonderful! My son Jack is 5 years old and has cp and autism. Like you, we had no indication in pg. He was very ill upon birth, lost a lot of blood in utero, had to be in the NICU from time of delivery for 6 weeks. And we were told all the pessimistic predictions as well. Our little guy has been an incredible fighter and we feel so lucky to have him. Lots of hugs to you. Great job with Max!!
ReplyDeleteLiz and Brenda, nice to meet you! Deana, I so love it that your Max started singing along! Alison, Max does not yet know Abba (although they are one of my favorite groups). First, though, I'd like him to pick up some Springsteen! And Katy, you will be able to teach Charlie those moves, soon, because Max and Sabrina will be releasing a dance video, produced by Jay-Z.
ReplyDeleteLove it! That video made me smile. I love how they looked at each other at different points when they were carrying a tune. Max looks so proud of himself (and he should be). Way to go Max!
ReplyDeleteEllen - Totally off topic, but I was just catching up on my blog reading (yours included) and saw the great shout-out to you on The Happiness Project. So happy to see you recognized. I adore your writing! Love, Lauren
