Monday Morning Confessional: space-cadet Mommy moments
One thing you should know about me is that I am a relatively organized, on-top-of-it person. I mean, I seriously considered joining a twittermoms group called The Organized Mom until I read a post on organizing shoes and got scared off (I am sure there are hordes of people out there who need to sharpen their footwear organizational skills, but I just cannot go there).
Anyway, I got a message from my bank last night, I do all of my banking online (try it if you haven't yet, it saves time and postage—about $50 a year, I've read—and it's good for Mom Earth). The message said I didn't have enough in my account to cover a credit-card payment. This was strange, because I knew I had enough. So I logged on. I owed $2816 but I'd put in for a payment of $28,166. Oopsie. Note to self: Not a good idea to pay bills and talk on the phone at the same time.
What "duh!" thing have you done lately?
Oh I love Mommy Confessions so much...
ReplyDeleteI woke up this morning energized and ready for my Monday morning routine. I got the kids up and dressed for school, then remembered that there was no school today and that I had known about it since last week.
Holy Cow! Careful on those commas Ellen!
ReplyDeleteI have duh mommy moments daily. The worst is when I forget to buckle the kids in their carseats...I generally only get to the end of the driveway before I figure it out or one of them tells me, but I have gotten all the way to my destination before realizing...not recently though! Surprising!
Lost my credit card. Went back into the store to search. Searched, and searched. Gave up, disheartened, and feeling like a fool.
ReplyDeleteFound the card in the seat of my car. Still felt like a fool, but at least I had the card back!
xo
I would have to say that I have WAY too many duh moments. I guess the latest is when i failed to move my car from behind my friend's van even though I knew we were getting in the van to go to the mall. Yeah, she backed the van into my car. I guess she was having a duh moment too?!?
